 This spring works well for Discovery, Maximus and 22XX PCP conversions up to around 2200 PSI without a power adjuster. With a power adjuster it works well up to around 2600 PSI. If upgraded with our custom valve screws to operate at higher pressures use our .045" WD spring that without a power adjuster works well up to around 2600 PSI, if preloaded with a power adjuster up to 3300 PSI.

 It's 1.5" long, .042" wire diameter and the ends are squared and ground flat to compress straight and even. It produces better shot consistency and eliminates hammer-bounce with no increase in cocking effort over the factory spring. When used with a power adjuster it works a lot smoother and produces more power over the factory spring with an adjuster. It's shorter than the older original Discovery hammer springs which were around 2.25" long but similar in length to the newer Discovery springs which were about 1.6" long.

IF USING A POWER ADJUSTER TO PRELOAD THIS SPRING, IT'S TOO STRONG FOR VARIABLE-PUMP AND CO2 MODELS AND CAN DAMAGE THE HAMMER PIN AND VALVE STEM WHEN SHOOTING AT LOW CO2 PRESSURE, LOW PUMP NUMBERS AND WHEN DRY-FIRING WITH NO PRESSURE 

 The more hammer-spring tension you have the harder it becomes to pull the bolt back. It works the smoothest if you hook your finger around the handle close to the breech and pull back in one quick motion. More hammer-spring tension also increases trigger pull. We have custom trigger groups, triggers, trigger springs and sears listed that reduce pull, increase comfort and accuracy. For the lightest possible pull and best overall performance use the minimum amount of hammer-spring tension needed to get the power level you need. If going for maximum power use only enough tension for the power level to peak. Variable-pump and CO2 models tend to lose power if the hammer spring is too strong because it will cause the valve-stem to cycle too fast for the valve to empty effectively. This can also happen with PCP and HPA if running in lower pressure ranges.
