 This spring is 1.5" long and .038" wire diameter, the ends are squared and ground flat for straight, even compression. Shorter and stiffer than the factory spring, it reduces hammer-bounce, improves consistency and allows the bolt to be pulled back easier even though it produces a little more power than the factory hammer spring. It can be used with or without a power adjuster. If using an adjuster to pre-load it, this is the strongest spring you can use without damaging a CO2 model, especially in cold temps where CO2 produces less pressure and when dry-firing with no pressure in the valve. Too much hammer-spring tension for the amount of pressure in the valve will damage the hammer pin and valve stem. If not using an adjuster you can use our .042" WD spring for about the same power level as this .038" WD spring with an adjuster.  

 The more hammer-spring tension you have the harder it becomes to pull the bolt back. It works the smoothest if you hook your finger around the handle close to the breech and pull back in one quick motion. More hammer-spring tension also increases trigger pull. We have custom trigger groups, triggers, trigger springs and sears listed that reduce pull, increase comfort and accuracy. For the lightest possible pull and best overall performance use the minimum amount of hammer-spring tension needed to get the power level you need. If going for maximum power use only enough tension for the power level to peak. Variable-pump and CO2 models tend to lose power if the hammer spring is too strong because it will cause the valve-stem to cycle too fast for the valve to empty effectively. This can also happen with PCP and HPA if running in lower pressure ranges.
